Fifteen years in pro baseball, constant moves, different time zones, four kids, a child with a heart condition, long seasons apart.
It was hard work for a healthy marriage, and that’s how it all started for Josh and Aurielle.
Together since high school, they were now doing everything they could to hold it all together as life got more complicated. Still, underneath the veneer, they were slowly drifting apart.
Eventually, they reached a place where the relationship that was meant to be their greatest source of strength became their greatest source of exhaustion.
There were seasons where marriage felt like managing logistics instead of connecting and growing.
They were in a slump, their mechanics were broken, and “more reps” wasn’t the answer.
One Day It All Came To a Head
One day, everything came to a head: they busted into a “benches-clearing”
couples fight while attending — you guessed it — a marriage conference. The veneer was finally giving way.
They suddenly realized that, despite being surrounded by professional coaches of all kinds, no one had ever taught them how to be successfully married.
They were taught how to train, compete, perform, and simply get stuff done — but not how to stay connected through it all.
Truth be told, a few pre-marital counseling sessions and an “attaboy” wasn’t going to cut it.
So they made a decision, together, that would permanently change the trajectory of their marriage: they committed to investing the time, energy, money, research, study — even a few professional certifications — necessary to get the big momentum shift they both deeply desired.
BECOMING TEAMMATES AGAIN
Now they’ve fused all those years of trial-and-error into game-changing marriage coaching that allows couples to go from “barely surviving” to truly thriving, before the pressure and fatigue break them.
